Rosemary officinalis 'Upright'

Rosemary officinalis 'Upright'

Rosemary comes in a few different styles from creeping to pyramidal.  This particular type has a more upright habit with loads of "kabob" like branches.  The plants are easily shorn to the desired height and shape or can be left to grow.  In the landscape they make nice hedges, grow in containers, and can become large specimens where winter hardy.  When, grown in containers you can bring inside during the winter and they are easily trained into little Christmas trees or bonsai.  In the kitchen we prefer rosemary on beef, venison, and pork, but it can also be used in stir fries and casseroles.  This variety produces blue flowers in late summer.
