Collection: Tradescantia Plants

This beautiful plant group contains some of the most unique blooms in the world.  This genus is a small family that has roughly 65 species, which range from hardy perennials to tropical house plants (Wanderng Jew).  The leaves are characteristically borne in an alternating fashion up and down strong or sprawling stems (dependant on species).  The leaves are lance shaped and fleshy.  The flowers are short lived and borne in pairs in terminal or axillary cymes.  In most cases the flowers burst open in early morning and are wilted by the afternoon sun, with new flowers formed daily.  Our plants offerings are hardy perennials.
