Lavandula x intermedia 'Phenomenal'

The favorite cold hardy, heat and humidity tolerant lavender with one of the best smells of any lavender.  The large plants can top out a 30" tall and have deep purple blooms with a candy fragrance like no other.  A popular landscape plant that doubles as a pollinator attractant in the veggie garden.   Very low maintenance needed requiring little fertilizer and minimal trimming annually.  The biggest thing to consider when planting lavender is drainage.  They hate wet feet and compacted soils; especially in the winter.

Fertilizer: If using compost apply an 1" at planting time and side dress annually in late fall or early spring.  If using a granular fertilizer, we recommend organic formulations, apply an all-purpose formula in early spring annually.  It is only recommended to use liquid fertilizers when the growth is slow, and this is not normally needed.
