Hibiscus Luna ‘Red’

The Luna series of hardy hibiscus is a first-generation hybrid that brings large flowers and a compact habit to the garden or container.  From the smooth deep green leaves to the large 6”-8” blooms this one is sure to be an attention grabber.  Simple to grow, hardy, and long lived.  They look especially striking around entryways, planted in groups of three or more, and in large containers.  While, the height can grow to 32", in our trials they were never over 24".  A must try for tropical landscape color.

Water: Keep evenly moist at all times; especially in containers
Mulch: Highly recommended after first planting.  Pine needles or wood are best.
Fertilizer: If using compost apply an 1" at planting time and side dress annually in late fall or early spring.  If using a granular fertilizer, we recommend organic formulations, apply an all-purpose formula in early spring annually.  In containers feed every two weeks during the growing season with an all-purpose liquid feed.  Stop feeding containers when the leaves start to drop in fall.
