Polemonium 'Stairway to Heaven'

  • $ 12.95

Also, known commonly as Jacob's Ladder because the leaves are perfectly set across from each other; resembling ladder rungs.  This cultivar of the US native, Polemonium reptans, has brilliant variegation and a strong performance.  The variegated leaves take on pink hues during the cooler months of the year and blue cupped flowers are borne from April through June.  In cooler areas of the US the bloom period will last much longer.  Once the bloom period is over the foliage remains attractive for a while before dying back in the fall.  A great companion to heuchera and hosta.  Plant en masse, in containers, or within the mixed border.  This is definitely a shade plant as the leaves will scorch in full sunlight.  Deer don't normally bother this plant but being browsers they may sample them.
