Aster Kickin'® Lilac Blue

Kickin'® varieties of the New England aster are more refined plants bred by Kientzler® of the Netherlands.  They have big blooms, bushy, and are low maintenance.  This trifecta makes a superb landscape perennial and even more noteworthy is they bloom, in the fall, when a lot of perennials are declining for the year.  Our goal in 2026 is to trial them as an alternative to mums.  Our over-wintered plants will be set to bloom in 2026 when planted in the spring after all chances of frost have pasted.  Add to the front or mid-border, try in pots, and plant in large groups for big color impact.  We look forward to your enjoyment from this new variety!

Fertilizer:  If using compost apply an 1" at planting time and side dress annually in late fall or early spring.  If using a granular fertilizer, we recommend organic formulations, apply an all purpose formula in early spring annually.  It is only recommended to use liquid fertilizers when the growth is slow, and this is not normally needed.
