Lavandula x intermedia 'Sensational'

Another great lavender from Peacetree Farms.  If you ever grew the lavender variety 'Phenomenal' you know what a large vigorous lavender is.  Sensational is a more refined version of Phenomenal and hits all the areas of improvement.  From the bigger blooms (see pic: sensational on left compared to phenomenal on right) to a more compact habit this variety is sure to be a workhorse in beds and borders.  The 4" spikes of deep purple blooms are borne from early summer all the way through the fall.

Soil Type/pH: Well-drained/6.0-7.5 
Hardiness Zones: 5-9
Fertilizer: If using compost apply an 1" at planting time and side dress annually in late fall or early spring.  If using a granular fertilizer, we recommend organic formulations, apply an all-purpose formula in early spring annually.  It is only recommended to use liquid fertilizers when the growth is slow, and this is not normally needed.
