A larger flowered, more compact, version of Campanula puncata, 'Rubrifolia', has intense ruby blooms up to 2.5" long. These blooms are borne in summer for four to six weeks and will continue until fall if properly sheared so flowers aren't allowed to set seed. The foliage is deep green, slightly felted, and leaves are borne densely on the strong flowering stalks as well. The plants slowly creep by underground rhizomes, and are not invasive. This hardy perennial is a frequent stop for hummingbirds.
