Kalanchoe tomentosa 'Chocolate Soldier'

Bringing sensory play into the houseplant realm, Kalanchoe 'Chocolate Soldier', has an interesting yet appeasing velvet touch.  As a small succulent, Mr. Chocolate Solider, can get up to two feet tall but is very slow growing and will be happy in smaller pots for a few years.  The color contrast coupled with the velvety feel makes this a fun desktop plant.  An extremely easy plant to care for that can be neglected for weeks; simply needing a bright locality and well-drained soil.  Toxic to dogs and cats if consumed so be careful with placement or avoid altogether.  Mildly toxic to humans if ingested so keep from toddlers.

Fertilizer: In containers feed once a month with a diluted all-purpose liquid fertilizer.  Feed every other month during the winter months.
Water: Allow top inch to dry before giving enough water so a little amount expels from drainage holes.  If in doubt don't water type of plant.  Water less often in winter.
