Peperomia axillaris

Peperomia axillaris

Peperomia axillaris is one of the cutest plants having uniquely cupped pod-like leaves!  In Peru and Ecuador, Peperomia axillaris, is at home in the understory where it thrives in the indirect sun.  This quality of thriving in lower light levels makes it an ideal houseplant.  When, potassium levels in the soil are high enough they will send up little flowering stalks that bear tiny yellow flowers.   This is an easy to care for houseplant with low water and fertilizer needs.  A good choice for beginning gardeners.
