Kniphofia 'Traffic Lights', is a dwarf red hot poker; also known as torch lily. Not sure if it was given the name 'Traffic Lights' because of the green, yellow, and red flower colors resembling a traffic light or the fact you slow down and stop to take a looksy. Either way this variety is freely blooming, and will bloom all summer long with an 1" of rain per week. The foliage is blue-green, evergreen, succulent, and attractive when the plants are out of bloom. This succulent foliage makes them drought tolerant, but you'll want to supplement water to keep them blooming during those periods of drought. Flowers are loved by butterflies and hummingbirds. A win for the perennial garden!
