Artemisia absinthium (Wormwood)

  • $ 5.95

Common Wormwood, is a world renowned plant that has been cultivated for various purposes for centuries.  Some past history includes using it as opposed to hops in beer making (low amounts) and for flavoring other spirits.  The silvery dissected leaves create a beautiful round mound that is topped with yellow flowers in early to mid-summer until late summer or fall.  A very trouble-free plant that isn't bothered by pests due it's insecticidal properties.  Also, due to these properties we recommend only using it as an ornamental plant; as ingesting large amounts have been shown to result in kidney failure and epileptic convulsions.  A great filler for adding a splash of light color to the landscape as well as creating an insect barrier within the perennial border.
