Agastache 'Astello Indigo' Plants

Agastache 'Astello Indigo', a brilliant agastache, took home the 2012 Fleuroselect Gold Medal for its outstanding garden performance.  The lighter blue flowers burst out of indigo flowering bracts for a unique color contrast.  Tall columnar blooming spikes are borne on strong, square stems for a long period in summer.  The foliage is a rich green, slightly serrate, and deliciously licorice scented.  There is no browning to the bracts and after the flowers fade the blooming columns still look attractive.  In the fall the leaves turn gold and ripe flower heads turn amber.  Songbirds like goldfinch, sparrow, tuft titmouse, and black-capped chickadees feast on the seeds.  Easily our favorite blue agastache and that is also a consensus of the many butterflies and pollinators that it attracts.  A super easy perennial that exhibits drought tolerance one year after transplanting.
