The habanero is a popular hot pepper from South America that widely known as one of the hottest in the world. The small orange fruits are tear drop shaped and borne abundantly on tall plants. The growing season is longer than most peppers so plan accordingly and plant early. The hotness of these peppers are rated at 100,000-300,000 Scoville Units(see chart in pictures for comparison to other peppers).
