Pepper 'Habanero' Plants

Pepper 'Habanero' Plants

The habanero is a popular hot pepper from South America that is widely known as one of the hottest in the world. The small orange fruits are tear drop shaped and borne abundantly on tall plants. The growing season is longer than most peppers so plan accordingly and plant early. The hotness of these peppers is rated at 100,000-300,000 Scoville Units (see chart in pictures for comparison to other peppers).

FertilizerApply an all-purpose fertilizer at planting.  We prefer organic for better soil health.  Fertilize weekly with a liquid fertilizer, like fish emulsion, if growth is slow.
Water:  Keep evenly moist at all times.  Irregular watering can result in corking or striations which are cracks in the skin from growing too fast.
