Tomato 'Cherokee Purple' Plants

Tomato 'Cherokee Purple' Plants

'Cherokee Purple' tomato plants are easily, our favorite tomato, that is big on taste and size.  This heirloom of Tennessee descent and Cherokee origin has stood the test of time and is still highly sought after today.  The reddish-purple fruits have a green overlay that makes it unattractive, but when opened up it has an authentic tomato flavor with hints of wine flavor.  The taste is hard to describe, but the first bite will have you hooked.  The vines stay healthy through the majority of the growing season but can succumb to fungus or bacterial diseases late in the season.  We use Serenade on the plants, late in the season, and have great luck with continued harvest.
