Collection: Swiss Chard Plants, Swiss Chard Transplants

Easily considered one of the most versatile greens in the American garden, 'Swiss Chard', offers many years of production and will grow through heat, cold, and tolerate short periods of dry weather.  The stalks are interesting colors and can be used like celery when mature.  The leaves are normally a rich green, but this varies between cultivars.  Used in the kitchen for salads, boiled greens, stir fries, and the raw stalks are good with peanut butter or ranch dressing.  Thought to have originated in Sicily, but actual origin is unknown, and the Swiss nomenclature was used by nineteenth century seed producers to distinguish it from French spinach varieties.  Nutritionally swiss chard is abundant in vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin C, vitamin E, iron, potassium, magnesium, manganese, potassium, and calcium.  A great choice for cut and come again home garden plantings.

Our stocky swiss chard plants are grown in 3" pots and are garden ready.  We guarantee our swiss chard plants to arrive in good condition or we will replace or refund your money.
