Silene lacinata 'Jack Flash', is a hardy herbaceous perennial with unique sunburst type flowers of reddish-orange that fade to a light coral.  The foliage is blue/green, lance shaped, and slightly felted.  A good choice for alkaline soils, and will grow beautifully in average garden soil.  Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.

Fertilizer: If using compost apply an 1" at planting time and side dress annually in late fall or early spring.  If using a granular or scratch in fertilizer it is best to apply them in early spring before growth begins.  If soil is poor and growth is slow a liquid feed can be used every two weeks during the growing season.
