Miscanthus sinesis 'Variegatus', is a world renowned perennial grass, that has graced gardens with beauty for years.  The cream colored leaf margins and slightly cascading blades bring color and texture to any outdoor setting. This attractive foliage is enhanced with red tinted plumes that slowly fade to amber as fall progresses.    A superb perennial for the mixed border, stand alone plantings, or in mass plantings.

Soil Type/pH: Well-drained/6.0-7.5 
Hardiness Zones: 5 - 10
Fertilizer: If using compost apply an 1" at planting time and side dress annually in late fall or early spring.  If using a granular fertilizer, we recommend organic formulations, apply an all purpose formula in early spring annually.  It is only recommended to use liquid fertilizers when the growth is slow, and this is not normally needed.
