Fescue has been a long time favorite in the perennial border because of its steel blue color and easy to maintain habit.  'Elijah Blue' is no different, if not a bit easier to maintain, than the species.  This steel blue beauty maintains its color longer and is one of the boldest blues available.  It produces amber colored plumes in early summer that add another element of texture and color.  A great choice for large plantings, container gardening, and dry borders.  Not a favorite of deer but they may browse on them occasionally.

Fertilizer: If using compost apply an 1" at planting time and side dress annually in late fall or early spring.  If using a granular fertilizer, we recommend organic formulations, apply an all purpose formula in early spring annually.  It is only recommended to use liquid fertilizers when the growth is slow and this is not normally needed.
