Garden Chives Plant - Streambank Gardens

Garden Chives -1 Plant

  • $ 3.95

A long lived perennial herb, which has hollow leaves, and a mild onion taste when harvested fresh.  We have always found that dried chives are rather bland; thus having a pot of chives will provide fresh leaves where winter is harsh.  In mild climates these plants will continue growing throughout the winter.  The round flowering heads are full of tubular lavender flowers in spring.  Plants that are grown indoors may not bloom as full, if at all; as they haven't had enough dormancy hours needed for optimum flower production.
