- Most varieties are ripe when the stems starts separating from the fruit.
- Other varieties are ripe when fruit is almost completely covered by their natural netting.
- Harvest fruits by turning in circular motion to twisted the stem to the breakage point. A
sharp knife or pruners can also be used to extract the fruit from the vine.
- Melons stored in a warm room a few days prior to use are more flavorful.
- Melons can be stored for a few days and up to 4 weeks under 55 degree temperatures
and in a humid environment.
