Brussel Sprouts (B. oleracea var. gemmifera) - A
unique species of the cabbage family, this biennial
produces numerous tiny cabbage head formations
(sprouts). These sprouts are tasty in many dishes and
raw. Succulent sprouts are a great part of the fall
harvest. Once frost has encased the sprouts the taste
is sweet and very flavorful. Texture is very similar to a
cabbage in early stage, but flavor is sweeter. Grown
for centuries and highly nutritious.
