Peppers (Capsicum frutescens) - A large genus of the
potato family (Solanaceae), peppers are cultivated for their
edible, and ornamental qualities.  Native to tropical regions
where these shrubby perennials are found naturally growing
at heights of six to eight feet.  In temperate regions peppers
are grown as annuals and normally only reach heights of
two to three feet; while still producing an ample amount of
fruit.  The pepper plant is an easy to cultivate choice for
home gardens and market growers alike.
