- Harvest after tops are yellowed.
- Pull onions and allow them to dry on top of the ground for a few days prior to storage.
- Best to pull plants when there are a few clear days in the forecast.
- If rain is present and plants need pulling cure bulbs on a wire rack under roof.
- Store onions in a well ventilated area on a wire rack, in braided bunches, or mesh bags.
- Keeping the storage area on the cool side is a plus for maintaining freshness.
- For scallions pull plants, clean and use immediately or refrigerate.
