Oenothera (Primrose) Growing Tips
|
|
- Plant in a well-drained soil that has been slightly enriched with organic matter.
- Do not provide a rich garden soil, as these are waste land plants, and will grow lanky in
soils high in organic matter.
- Before planting make sure the pH of your soil is within a 5.5-7.0 for optimum growth
and flowering.
- To encourage a re-bloom or continuous blooming cut all spent flowering stalks to basal
rosette of leaves before they are allowed to seed out.
- If growing in containers mix coarse sand into the potting medium to aid in drainage.
