- Eggplants thrive in full sun and require consistent soil moisture for optimum fruit

- Long hot growing seasons are required for eggplants, as they are very unproductive in
cool weather.
- If you can grow sweet potatoes you can grow eggplants.
- In northern gardens planting in a patio tub enables you to move the plant to a warm area
when cool temperatures threaten outside; as cool air can cause eggplants to drop fruit.
- If your area is prone to cool summers consider growing eggplants in a heated
greenhouse or solarium.
