Cucumber - An annual vine that is thought to have
been native to Asia and Eygpt, but exact locality is not
set in stone. This member of the diverse gourd family
has been nourishing people for over 3000 years.
Bearing single male and female flowers on the same
plant (monoecious). The fruits are borne from the
female flowering bracts and are 10" - 12" long in some
varieties and over 2' long in others. These fruits are
high in Vitamin A and C, phosphorus, calcium, and
contain a trace amount of iron.
