- To harvest cucumbers cut the stem 1" from the fruit with a pair of sharp pruners or a
knife.
- For gherkins harvest cucumbers when they are around 1"-3" long.
- Allow cucumbers to grow almost to maturity for slicing.
- Monitor plants daily as the fruit matures quickly
- Over ripened cucumbers that are left on the vine may inhibit the vine from producing
new fruit.
- Always pick and discard of rotten, and yellow cucumbers to continue the vines
production of blossoms and fruit.
- Wash cucumbers throughly under cold water with a rag to remove the prickly spines on
the rind.
